Let me just start off by saying it was the best burger I have had in 5 years. .. Will preface that by saying am new to the burger club.

The burger itself comes prepared perfectly. I prefer a rare bloody burger myself, but that is actually easier to mess up than one might imagine. Too many times the thing will disintegrate in your hands, with loose hamburger and soggy bun. No problems with that at DB it held together perfectly while actually delivering a rare pink in the middle. What makes the feat all the more impressive is that in the middle of the patty are the braised short ribs and foie gras. None of this distracted from the texture of the patty as you bit in. The foie gras spread through out the burger like butter as you ate. The truffles did their job of just accentuating the tastes by being there.

The question was a little surprised never came up as the group of four devoured the burgers was whether this truly was a burger at all. We splurged on a good bottle of red to go with the meal and it seemed much more appropriate than beer. So does this fusion of Americana and French Haute make a divine paring, absolutely. Some may differ in opinion, but in the end all I am concerned about is the taste.

The only reason I could not give this burger an A+ was the lack of cheese. Being from Wisconsin America’s diary land had to bump it down on principle alone. Granted I neglected to ask for cheese, so there may be an A+ in the near future for the DB fromageburger in the future.
