People say the 'rouge' color stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing, but they probably have never seen the Rouge Burger yet. Horror, fear, and maybe anxiety would be more appropriate to describe your emotional shock when this monster piece is being served in front of you. I inevitably ended up staring at this massive 10+ ounces chared patty, solidly lying on a bun which we could approximately size a '38-D'.
Couple of minutes later, I started the process of fixing the beast which a touch of ketchup, since the patty already comes in with melted gruyere and caramelized onions on top (plus lettuce and tomato). This is a nice little touch which reminds you that you are not here to take part in a obscene food contest, but to savor a more refined burger. After couple of jaws locks, i managed to get a bite at it, while my BurgerBabe decided to simply use a fork and put the top bun on the side. The patty came in strong at first, well charred, huge enough to be blood 'rouge' on the inside, and definetely of high quality. But surprisingly, the seasoning was inexistant, with a little or not salt at all. On the bun side, the two lobes came in slighlty toasted and buttered, which proves to be very tasty but not so light. And heaviness actually might be what's preventing this bionic burger to reach the highest mark. Sure, plenty is always good with burgers, but this is too much in my opinion. The feeling of being fullfilled while still hungry for another order is typically what should be a burger full satisfaction (and frurstration). This one will cause you more trauma than anything else if you don't prepare yourself correctly. This is an A burger.
